In Denmark!

:O I got a LiveJournal account! hehe. Okay I shall now outline my day at the Aquarium!

Okay I got there at 8 (which meant getting up at 7!) and I helped clean. First I fished this giant dead crab out of one of the tanks with this huuuuuge net with a gianormous pole attached to it. I got it up and put it in the garbage. Then I got a broom with an equaly large pole and swept the bottom of a tank with small fish in it. There's no rocks so all the dirt and such collect at the bottom and there's this sucktion down there that sucks up all the dead fish and dirt and old food. So I cleaned it :D After I got to wipe all the tanks off. I went around with this stray can and cloth and cleaned everything off. While Micheal and Raggard were fiddling with the lights I started petting the mantrays they had in the open tank. Then it was time for breakfast. Lots of the staff talked to me and teased me (of course, cuz they're Danish) Did you know that according to TV and one Danish person Canadians eat bears and leaves? I didn't either haha.

Next it was off to get the food ready for the fish :D I cleaned out muscles (or however it's spelled) and took out the slimy meat out from the inside. Then I pulled the heads off of shrimp again. At 11 am they sent to up to watch the seals getting fed. hehe sooo cute. Then the mink were fed and then the fish in the open tank. They are the ones that suck on your hand. hehehe. I got to stand there aaaalllllll by myself and feed them and hand out the good to the public while Rin handled some calls. After it was time for a quick lunch.

After lunch I went on this shore tour type thing with 7 Danes and 3 Germans. What you do it start with a intro in Danish. I sat through it and listened and I learned a lot about the beach. Next came the German intro so I got a 30 min break. I went up to say hi to Marc who was working in the cafeteria and then I got to feed the fish. Me and Raggard went up above the big fish tanks and threw the food down to all the fishies :P Then at 1 I headed down to meet the group. We crossed the road and went down to the beach. The aquarium has a net out in the water that was set up over night. So the group walked allll the way out to get it. We stopped along the way so Rin could answer questions and talk a little bit about what was on the beach. When we got out to the net Rin and I dragged it in. It was filled with crabs! Which I'm scared of but I had to suck it up and not show I was scared (Rin also teased me about it bu oh well hehe). So the hundereds of crabs were poured into a white bin we brought. And Rin held them up so we could look at them. Some of them managed to hop out and craw away ehehe (it was kinda cute how the ploped into the water and run two feet). We brough a fish and like 4 crabs back to the aquarium. I quickly had time to wash my feet and hop back into the my shoes before the seals were fed for the second time.

Now here comes the best part. We were walking down in the basement and Micheal and Raggard were sitting there relaxing and Rin and I were running around getting fish ready for the seals when Rin stops and say "Oh yeah I need someone to feed from the patform... Maja! You know the routine right?" Me: "Um......" *faints and maks 1000 paramedics come and they close down the aquarium for the day* haha j-k but I was beat red with the hugest smile on my face. Rin said not to stress and that she would stand with me on the platform and go over to the other side as well. So I agreed (even if I had to do it all by myself and would have made a fool out of myself I would have done it haha). And so we stood there and she spoke to the public (oh and with my luck the first time I do it there's tooons of people) Every now and then she would whisper to me "Throw that one over to Tor there" And tell me which seal it was. And so I threw the fish. I even got a couple of them to jump up a few times beside me before I gave them the fish. After the first bucket was empty Rin went over to the other side. I knew that I couldn't go cuz the seals didn't know me that well and would be scared and not do their trix so I stayed back and watched.

But now I'm all giddy and happy. I fed seals! hehehehehe. And tomorrow I'm going at 9 am to watch her train them and if I'm lucky Rin might let me come over the fence and introduce me to them haha.
